MEMORY AS A LIVING MATTER (EXHIBITION)
International Artists for a reinterpretation of the war object
February 04th – March 05th 2017
Vernissage and talk with the artists: February, Saturday the 4th, from 6:00 p.m. @ at Sala Umberto Veruda (Piazza Piccola 1 – Trieste, Italy)
The exhibition has no entry fee and is visitable for free from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. – 13.00 p.m. and from 15:30 – 18:30 p.m.
In whichever point of the exhibition the visitor will be, he will always be surrounded by a material universe in balance between the cold heaviness of the metals and of concrete, and the fragile evanescence of the graphite, and of organic elements such as bread and eggshells.
Playing a part in the reinterpretation of the war object into contemporary artworks made with war remains, and in artworks that materialise the unexpressed war legacies, the user is immersed in a multi-focal perception of history, whilst the time, gaiting under his eyes, blending into the artworks, disgregating and making them perish.
Artworks: Man Ray, Nathalie Vanheuele, Boris Beja, Lang Ea, Cosima Montavoci, Claudio Beorchia, Luca Terenzi, Ana Mrovlje, Anitra Hamilton, Ilisie Remus.
